I finally got to go to Rye BMX last night and watch Drew do some racing.
I hadn't seen him do the track since last year, and I was really impressed by how much better he got. it was the first of the New Hampshire State Series, so the points went to him getting a (hopefully)#1 plate for 2007 at the end of the year.
Drew's 20" class had 4 riders, and him and his buddy Daniel traded wins the first two motos, and Drew won the last one, giving him the overall win.
Drew also raced his 24" cruiser last night for the first time, and he flew on it. He literally rode it for the 1st time a half hour before the race, but he took right to it and did great, keeping up with the 16 year old he had to race.
Drew now has 1st place in his age class for both 20" and cruiser, and if he finishes this way in 2 more state races, he will get the #1's for the year! Needless to say, I am incredibly excited for him.
